LEAGUE OPEN TO ANY BOY KINDERGARTEN TO 3RD GRADE,
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE DIVIDED INTO A K\/1 AND 2\/3 DIVISION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LEAGUE SIGN UP<\/strong><\/span> Online registration and payment at dixiehoops.com website between September 5th through September 21st<\/strong>. Anyone wanting to pay cash or money order can contact Coach Code at scott.code@kenton.kyschools.us for drop off and mail in instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COST<\/span><\/strong> $170 league fee + $2.50 convenience charge.\u00a0This is a one-time payment with NO ADMISSION COSTS <\/strong>for games.\u00a0Participants receive: game jersey, individual and team instruction, 8-10 games and 8-10 practices (weather permitting), admission to Dixie Heights boy\u2019s home basketball games, participation trophy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RETURNING PLAYERS<\/span><\/strong> We will accommodate returning players who would like to participate on the same team as last year if the player signs up by September 21st<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW PLAYERS<\/span> <\/strong>We will place all first-year players based on roster availability (this depends on how many returning players we have from the previous year). We will try<\/span><\/strong> to accommodate requests to play with a group of friends or a particular coach based on roster availability. We attempt to place new players with kids from their own elementary school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRACTICE DATES AND PROCEDURES<\/span><\/strong>
Rosters will be posted the week of October 12th<\/strong> and all practices will begin the week of Monday, October 19th<\/strong> and will be held at various Kenton County Schools.\u00a0We will schedule practices on a seniority basis and availability of the coach.\u00a0Practice time will range from 45 minutes to 1 hour and start anywhere from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.\u00a0A final practice schedule will be available when all the teams and coaches are determined by mid-October.\u00a0(weather permitting)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GAME DATES AND PROCEDURES<\/span><\/strong>
Games are set to begin on November 7th<\/strong>. <\/mark>All participants will play an equal amount of time.<\/strong> Each game will consist of (2) twenty-minute running clock halves. All games will be played on Saturday\u2019s and occasional Sundays due to lack of gym availability (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at Dixie Heights or Griffin Elite. K\/1 division baskets will be lowered to 8 1\/2 feet and 2\/3 division will play on 9-foot goals. The K\/1 division will play with a 27.5 size basketball and the 2\/3 division will play with a 28.5 size basketball. Modifications will be made to the rules to help the flow of the game while still teaching the fundamentals of basketball. Official league rules available through league coordinator and each team’s coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
